WHO ARE SALSA ALEGRIA? Tony and Liz Austin have been dancing salsa for over five years and, before being drawn to this addictive dance, dabbled with tap dancing, rock and roll, le roc and Latin American ballroom.  As the principle instructor, Tony has taught (and is still involved) in various venues in Milton Keynes, Bedford, Luton, Ampthill and Oxford.  Liz assists in classes at other levels, but specialises in beginner level tuition and support.  Tony's music background (having been a semi-professional drummer in the late 60s) has led to his also becoming a very competent DJ with his own equipment - we are constantly topping up our CD collection with the latest Latin sounds. Having been involved in the set up of the very successful Salsa Estrellas in Milton Keynes, Tony and Liz have now branched out on their own to meet the needs of new and existing pupils who want to benefit from their particularly unique style of teaching. THEIR AIM Based in Milton Keynes, Salsa Alegria aims to bring the basic ingredients of salsa and merengue dancing to people of any age group who enjoy the fun of dancing and are looking to take that initial taste of this passionate and sensual dance and move on to enjoy being competent partner dancers - whilst at the same time making new friends in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. 'Our emphasis is on clear, unambiguous instruction, relating the steps and arm movements to understandable visual concepts - the result being an increase in confidence based on a thorough grounding of the principles which, through practice and guidance, lead to a natural and smooth flowing dance style. We offer complete beginners tuition as well as improver and intermediate/advanced level classes.  Private tuition for individuals and couples can be arranged upon request. We also offer party nights, wedding party 'taster' salsa classes and Latin style Dj'ing.  We have taught Casino Rueda workshops to existing salsa dancers.'
