If you like organising and have more time to spare, why not volunteer to be an ITCH County Co-ordinator (CC)?

The main activities are:

·        Taking client referrals from AbilityNet (via email) and allocating these to volunteers (usually by emailing them with brief details and asking for a volunteer!)

·        Keeping track of your calls, to ensure that you don’t forget any, and providing brief quarterly statistics for ITCH to feedback to fund providers.

·        Interviewing prospective volunteers and verifying their identity for the enhanced CRB check.

You may also get involved some or all of the following activities:

·        Creating mailing lists of relevant Charities, Citizens Advice Bureaux, Libraries, Volunteer Organisations, Newspapers and local radio stations. Most of these can be obtained easily from Thomson’s Directory on the web and put into Word tables for mail merge.

·        Customising publicity material and form letters – we already have leaflets and templates, which can be modified to suit any particular county.

·        Sending out the publicity materials to the organisations to obtain volunteers and clients.

·        Holding a kick-off meeting for volunteers (possibly advertising it as well for potential clients).

·        Following up the initial publicity with phone calls and/or visits and generally building up your own network of contacts in the county.
